1986 – Keselowski Scores First in Berlin ARCA

Bob Keselowski scored his first career ARCA Supercar Series victory, winning the Berlin 100 at Berlin Raceway.

Marne, Mich. (August 2, 1986) – Bob Keselowski scored the first ARCA Supercar Series win of his career as he topped the Berlin 100 Saturday night at Berlin Raceway.

Bob Strait took the early lead from polesitter Keselowski, but Keselowski charged back in front on lap 7. Keselowski maintained a sloid cushion over the remainder of the field for the balance of the race to become the ninth different driver to win on the ARCA circuit this season.

Bill Venturini worked his way up to gain second at the wire followed by Strait, defending ARCA series champion Lee Raymond, and Bob Brevak.

“This really gives us a lift,” said Keselowski, who turned 35-years-old the day before the race. “We’ve been fast a lot of times but just couldn’t get the win. The first win is the hardest.”

Keselowski collected $3,605 in prize and contingency money plus $2,100 in bonus awards.

Raymond continues to lead the series’ point standings with 2,175 markers while Bob Schact, who finished sixth after a late race spin, is second with 1,770 points.
