Eldon, Iowa (August 8, 1984) – Tony Stewart, Aaron Brown, and Lynn Monroe were feature winners at the annual Wapello County Fair races on Wednesday night.

Stewart, of Washington, continued his winning ways this season by putting his car out front for late model honors. Chasing Stewart around the “Super Half-Mile” were Jim Brown, Kenny Fenn, and Darrell Garman.

Stewart and Dave Campbell led from start to finish in their respective heat races.

Aaron Brown of Ottumwa was declared the winner of the street stock main event after Scott Newman refused to sell his motor to a claimer. Brown’s engine was claimed as well and he did sell, earning himself first place money. Jim Gorden chased Brown down to the wire to take second while Jim Mueller placed third.

Lynn Monroe of Memphis, Mo., scored his first modified feature win of the season. Monroe took the checkers ahead of John Brumley and Danny Bowen.
