1977 – Walton Scores Marshfield Win

Marshfield, Wis. (July 2, 1977) – Ken Walton of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, captured the second leg of the three event Super Stock Car Series win his victory in the 50-lap feature at the Marshfield Speedway at the Wood county Fairgrounds on Sunday afternoon.

Walton, who won the first contest of the series the night before at Neillsville Raceway, finished in front of Punky Manor of Altoona. J.J. Smith of Appleton took third ahead of Ed Sanger of Waterloo, Iowa. Short track ace Dick Trickle of Wisconsin Rapids rounded out the top five.

Gary Amundson and Steve Egersdorf of St. Paul, Minn., were able to earn starting positions in the main event with their one-two finish in the semi-feature.
