Cresco, Iowa (September 2, 1974) - Karl Sanger captured the overall point crown in the twin 30-lap season championship late model features Monday night at the Howard County Fairgrounds Speedway before a crowd of 2,000

Sanger, of Waterloo, Iowa, edged Dave Bjorge of Austin and Jack Mitchell of New Hampton, Iowa, with 36 points to 35 for the two runner-up finishers.
