Burlington, Iowa (June 2, 1967) – Ernie Derr of Keokuk, Iowa, paced the field, leading all 50 laps of the IMCA late model stock car race and breaking three new records at the Tri-State Fairgrounds.
Derr, set a new record for the 50-lap main of 22 minutes and 29 seconds (old 22:38 by Ramo Stott in 1966), a new record for 10-laps of 4 minutes and 32 seconds (old 4:45 by Ramo Stott in 1966) and broke his own 1-lap record in qualifying with a new mark of 26.43 seconds, breaking his own record of 27.03 set last year.Ramo Stott, Lenny Funk and Ole Brua held down the second, third and fourth spots throughout the feature.
